1. Who we are

WarmByte is a brand of Samkart, a sole proprietorship (GSTIN 29AMBPP8040Q1ZD).

Registered address (as per GST): Flat No. S-6, Vensa Prime Apartments, 17-21, Mangammana Palya Main Road, Bommanahalli, Bengaluru Urban, Karnataka 560068, India.
Store and office: No. 59, Shop No. 1, 2nd Cross, Behind Vensa Prime Apartments, Bangalore, Karnataka 560068, India.

Samkart is the Data Fiduciary for personal data collected through warmbyte.in, our social media pages and our store. This policy follows the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the DPDP Rules, 2025.

2. What we collect and why

Name, phone, email, shipping and billing address — when you place an order — to process, ship and support your order, and issue GST invoices.
Payment status and transaction ID — at checkout — to confirm payment. Card and UPI details are handled by Razorpay; we never see or store them.
Name, email, phone, company, message — through our Contact, Bulk Orders and Affiliate forms — to reply to your enquiry and, for affiliates, to run the program and pay commissions.
Bank or UPI details for payouts — only if you join our Affiliate Program — to pay your commission.
Device, browser, IP address, pages visited — automatically, through cookies — to keep the site and cart working and, only with your consent, to measure and improve marketing.

We collect only what we need for these purposes and do not use it for anything unrelated without asking you first.

3. Your consent

We process your data on the basis of your consent, given when you place an order, submit a form or accept cookies, or where the law allows without consent (for example, keeping tax records). Marketing messages are sent only if you opt in.

You can withdraw consent at any time, as easily as you gave it, by emailing support@warmbyte.in or using the unsubscribe link in any message. Withdrawal does not affect processing already done, but we may not be able to complete an order in progress.

4. Who we share it with

We share data only with service providers who process it on our behalf and under our instructions:

Shopify, our e-commerce platform
Razorpay, for payments
Shiprocket and its courier partners, for delivery
GoDaddy, our business email provider
GoAffPro, to track affiliate referral links and credit commissions (uses a 30-day referral cookie)
Trustpilot, to email you one invitation (and one reminder) to review your order after delivery, using your name, email and order reference. You can opt out using the link in that email or by writing to support@warmbyte.in
Shopify Analytics, to understand site usage
Google (Google Ads, Google Analytics) and Meta (Facebook and Instagram ads, Meta Pixel), to measure our ads and show you relevant WarmByte offers

Analytics, affiliate-tracking and advertising tools run only if you accept those cookies. We may also disclose data when required by law or a government authority. We never sell your personal data. Some providers may store data outside India, which the DPDP Act permits except to countries restricted by the Government of India.

5. How long we keep it

Order and invoice records: as long as GST and tax law requires
Enquiry and form data: up to 2 years after our last interaction, unless it becomes an order
Affiliate records: while you are an affiliate, plus the period tax law requires
Marketing data: until you unsubscribe or withdraw consent

After that, we delete or anonymise it.

6. Your rights

Under the DPDP Act you can:

Get a summary of the personal data we hold about you and who we have shared it with
Correct, complete or update inaccurate data
Ask us to erase data we no longer need to keep by law
Withdraw consent at any time
Nominate someone to exercise these rights if you die or become unable to
Raise a grievance with us, and then with the Data Protection Board of India if you are not satisfied

We will acknowledge your request within 48 hours and resolve it within 30 days.

8. Security and data breaches

We use reasonable safeguards, including encrypted HTTPS, Shopify's secure checkout, access limited to staff who need it, and access logs. If a breach affects your data, we will inform you and the Data Protection Board of India as the law requires, explaining what happened and what you can do.

9. Children

WarmByte is intended for buyers aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has shared data with us, email support@warmbyte.in and we will delete it.

10. Cookies

Essential cookies keep your cart and checkout working and are always on. Analytics and marketing cookies, including those from Google and Meta used for advertising, are used only if you accept them in our cookie banner, and you can change your choice at any time.

11. Changes to this policy

We will post any update on this page with a new date. For significant changes, we will notify you by email or a notice on the site.
